Breathe Psychology is currently looking for a warm, compassionate and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist / Registrar to join our team in Geelong.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT?

  • Flexible work arrangements. Minimum 2 days or 12 clients per week preferred. You choose when you want to work.
  • No after hours or weekend work is required (But available at a higher rate if you require weekend hours).
  • Full administrative support with onsite reception during business hours (Mon-Fri).
  • The opportunity to work with individuals as well as group therapy programs.
  • A diverse caseload of clients waiting to be seen which means you can step right into the role and not have to obtain referrals. 
  • Subsidised beginner & advanced accredited training in EMDR to assist in becoming an accredited EMDRAA practitioner
  • Monthly group supervision with an Accredited EMDR Trainer at no cost.
  • Monthly inhouse group supervision.
  • Onsite car parking for staff or a short 10-minute walk from Geelong’s main train station.
  • Located in Geelong West and on the fringe on the city, we are close to all amenities and cafes.
  • 20-minute drive away from the surf coast for your lifestyle needs.
  • Registrar program for Clinical Psychology Registrars:
    • Sufficient caseload, and individual and group supervision to meet your registrar program requirements within the minimum required timeframe, if desired.
    • Subsidised beginner & advanced accredited training in EMDR to assist in becoming an accredited EMDRAA practitioner
    • Monthly group supervision with an Accredited EMDR Trainer at no cost.
    • Weekly/fortnightly (depending on how many days you work) Supervision from a board approved Supervisor at no cost. 
    • Monthly inhouse group supervision.
    • Developing skills as a trauma-informed Therapist in a professional environment with access to a range of evidence-based interventions such as biofeedback, neurofeedback and the Safe and Sound Protocol.
    • Developing skills in working with a broad range of trauma-based and dissociative disorders. 


WHAT CAN YOU BRING TO THE TEAM?

  • A passion for trauma-informed client care.
  • A willingness to contribute to a supportive collegial workplace.
  • Experience working with a range of psychological disorders.
  • Experience or a willingness to learn about the treatment of trauma related mental health disorders.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to keep up to date with cutting edge evidence-based interventions.
  • High standards of ethical practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


WHAT ADDED SKILLS WOULD BE DESIRABLE?

  • 2 years’ experience consulting clients and developing effective treatment plans.
  • A successful track record of performing psychological assessments and properly diagnosing existing or potential disorders.


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Completion of a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Eligibility for a Medicare provider number.
  • As a contractor you will need to provide your own Professional Indemnity Insurance.
