A note on fathers
While much of the focus during the perinatal period is on the mother, it’s essential to acknowledge that fathers also experience biological, emotional and psychological shifts during this time. Fathers can face challenges such as anxiety, stress, and feelings of inadequacy, as well as adjusting to their new roles in the family. Although this is spoken about less, it is not a rare experience with 1 in 10 Australian men suffering from postnatal depression.
We offer support to fathers, helping them navigate the emotional complexities of becoming a parent and ensuring they receive the necessary care to support their mental and overall well-being during this period.
