ABOUT ANXIETY
Anxiety and worry are normal parts of life and being human. However, when we feel anxious or worried for long periods of time, for no obvious reason, or if it is impacting our ability to cope with every day life, this may mean that an anxiety disorder is present. All of our clinicians are highly trained and experienced in the psychological treatment of a range of anxiety based disorders.
Anxiety disorders are very common, occuring in around one in four Australians (one in three women and one in five men). It is important to recognise when your anxiety might be getting out hand and to seek help as soon as possible, as there are many effective methods for treating this condition.

HOW WE HELP
Counselling for Anxiety can help if you are ready to talk openly with a trained therapist about strategies for managing anxiety. The most common type of talk therapy is called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which aims to identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that contribute to anxiety, and replace them with more helpful ones.
This can help if:
- You become nervous in social situations
- You spend a lot of time engaging in anxious thinking
- You experience panic attacks
- You have trouble leaving the house
- You have trouble relaxing or winding down
- You often feel scared that something bad is going to happen
